Wexler MIS MVR/AVR Instruments - A Gentle Touch in Heart Care

During a traditional open-heart surgery, the heart is accessed by cutting through and retracting the sternum. In contrast, minimally invasive cardiac procedures involve accessing the heart through small incisions between the ribs.

Minimally invasive procedures offer a variety of benefits, and patients who undergo a minimally invasive surgery are likely to experience:

  • Reduced scarring
  • Reduced pain
  • Shorter hospital stays
  • Less blood loss
  • Lower risk of infection
  • Quicker recovery time

Two of the most common minimally invasive cardiac procedures are Mitral Valve Repair or Replacement (MVR), and Aortic Valve Repair or Replacement (AVR). These procedures involve either repairing a damaged or defective valve or replacing it with an artificial valve.
